Tote-n-Float was born on the open ocean, just West of Patos Island. Patos Island is at the most North-Western point of the continental United States.
While kayaking to the island's Western reef, I paddled alongside my kayak companion and offered him an ice cold O'Douls beer. "Where are you going to find a cold tote out here in the ocean?" He asked. "No problem," I responded, as I pulled up a line hanging off the side of my kayak. "Welcome to Tote-n-Float," I said, handing him an O'Doul's.
Tote-n-Float is not a business. We've got nothing to sell. It is about serious friendships in a world too busy to put relationships above the pursuit of wealth, power and pleasure. This website will allow us to share the full range of our friendship experience as we explore God's creation in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for visiting!

Terry's Bio
I was born in 1952 - Seattle. My childhood was fabulous, thanks to my parents and their close friends. The defining moment of my life occurred when I was just 19 years old.
I was starting my third year as a Washington State Cougar (WSU) gymnast. I managed to land a scholarship, which helped move me in the right direction. Little did I know what would happen next! That summer (1971) I had a spiritual experience that changed everything (You can read the details elsewhere on this site). I have B.A. degree from Northwest College, and am currently a sergeant with a local sheriff's office. My good friend Bob (see below) was the commander in my division.
I was born and raised in Minnesota, and in 2005 I retired from a 30 year career in Law Enforcement. I have had a great life.
After graduating from Elk River Senior High School in 1969, I began a career in law enforcement as a Security Police K-9 handler in the Air Force. I received assignments in the Philippines, Vietnam and San Bernardino California.
After leaving the Air Force in 1973, I served in the Peace Corps for 2 ½ years as an Agricultural Credit Technician in the Philippines. I did not return to law enforcement until 1979, when I was hired by Clatsop County Sheriff's Office as a Corrections Officer. As a result of lay-off, I left Clatsop County and was hired by Washington County Sheriff's Office where I continued my career in Corrections until retirement.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from Portland State University and an executive level certification in corrections through Oregon's Department of Police Safety Standards and Training. Since 1996, I have been actively involved in the community as a professionally trained Mediator. My wife Lisa and I are currently active in our church. (Click here to see my personal testimony ). We have been married 31 years and have a son, (Zack) and a daughter, (Vanessa) who are both maried. We both enjoy kayaking, hiking, camping, fishing and spending time with our family and church. We have retired and currently reside on Harstine Island in Washington. Click here to see more pictures of my family.
